We start off with some simple weapon power. We will get rid of this later on in favor of ability power. As an alternative you could take

Depending on how well the first round went, we will sell our weapon power related items in favor of some survivability. We will always pick two blues over 1 purple at this point, no matter how well the round went. If the round did not go so well, go for

over
if you feel like you might be able to turn the tides. If you have some coins left over you could consider getting
, which provides a decent power spike some time into the round.

will give you the damage you might have been lacking in previous rounds. From here on focus on being a disruptive force. Separate the tank from the team, or dive the DPS like Cassidy or Ashe. At this point, if things have been going well, you might also consider picking up
.

Round 4

Champion's Kit
Champion's Kit
35% Ability Power

This is where we will be picking up our first Epic item if possible.

can be a nice option if you feel like you are getting good use out of your ultimates.
is a good choice if you are having trouble taking down tanks or lonesome Soldiers with strong healing.
is a solid option all around, but might end up biting you in the butt since it provides no Utility.

Round 5

10% Ability Power

15% Ability Lifesteal

While at full Life, Lifesteal grants up to 100 Overhealth.

This is another large power spike. You instantly become more tanky without having to opt for any survival items. Keep doing what you are doing before. Focus on staying on or near the objective. Your job is to be a nuisance, no better place to do that than where the enemy doesn't want you to be.

is an all-around solid pick, but it might not provide the power spikes you might be after. Alternatively you could go for
or
.

From here on it's refining what we're already doing. Selling either

or
. From here any Epic items with Ability Power or Cooldown Reduction will do a solid job. You don't need to go for any Mei specific items, as these largely focus on abilities than Cryo-Freeze.
may sound like a good option, but a one-time power spike is far too unreliable.

Our last power, and it must be

. You could have picked this up early over
, in which case that is what you pick up here. In any case, your play style will stay the same, always playing around your Cryo-Freeze cooldown.

Description

Early on try to stick with your team as much as possible. Your power comes in quite late, so allow yourself to be carried if need be. Be there for your team, don't try to be flashy. Use your walls to either separate the tank from the team, or to separate the enemy healers from their teammates. If you see a low-health enemy, make sure the healers can't undo that by placing a quick wall.

Later on you will start playing entirely around your Cryo-Freeze cooldown, dipping in and out of cover while it's recharging. Use your Cryo-Freeze to push enemies into walls and corners, keeping a tank in place long enough for your team to finish them off, or going for that out of position DPS to finish them off on your own.

You will be tanky, annoying, but lack consistent damage. Use this to your advantage by playing on the objective. Enemies will have to put in more resources to kill you compared to your teammates, and equally your healers don't have to heal you as much as they might need to heal others, allowing them to better focus their resources on others.
